Technical Writer

Chartis Research is the leading provider of research and analysis on the global market for risk technology. It is part of Infopro Digital, which owns market-leading brands such as Risk and WatersTechnology. Chartis’ goal is to support enterprises as they drive business performance through better risk management, corporate governance and compliance, and to help clients make informed technology and business decisions by providing in-depth analysis and actionable advice on virtually all aspects of risk technology.

We are looking for a Technical Writer, reporting to the UK-based Editorial Director, to play a critical role in the creation and development of our reports and other industry publications during an exciting, high-growth period for Chartis. For the right candidate, this is a chance to be part of an expanding team that provides invaluable research, advisory and thought leadership tailored to the needs of the RiskTech marketplace – resulting in an unrivalled level of depth and insight on which our clients have come to rely.

Key Responsibilities

Writing Chartis reports and articles. Consulting with the editorial team and working with research analysts, you will provide first drafts from a variety of sources, including interviews, presentations and internal discussions, and help develop these into final deliverables. You will be required to work on several projects concurrently, often across different research areas.

Developing strong thought leadership content. As part of the writing process you will be required to identify, develop and write compelling, unique stories in line with Chartis’ voice in the market.

Writing copy for web articles, sales collateral and other content. You may be required to write, develop and edit copy for other departments in the business, including sales and marketing.

Ensuring consistency and impact. Working with Chartis’ editorial and production team, you will help to ensure that all deliverables meet Chartis’ standards of quality and consistency.

Editing/proofreading. At especially busy times you may also be required to assist with the editing and proofreading of reports and articles.

Other required skills include editing, an ability to handle multiple concurrent projects, project management, an ability to work under pressure and to deadlines, and strong organizational skills.

Demonstrable technical skills required for the role, as well as attention to detail and a willingness and ability to broaden own knowledge.

BA degree and/or Master’s (or equivalent) in Journalism and/or Economics/Finance is highly desirable.

Experience in digital journalism and/or other business writing preferred, either in the workplace or as part of a dedicated journalism/writing degree program.
