Insurance Age, the pre-eminent insurance title dedicated to the UK broking sector, is looking for an editor.
To fill the vacancy we are looking for a senior journalist/editor who can manage and motivate a highly respected team and make sure they continue to uphold a reputation as the go-to source for news, analysis and insight into the UK broking sector.
Working in a fast-paced environment delivering must read content, the ideal candidate will have the drive, ambition, and hunger to make a real difference in what is one of Infopro Digital’s flagship UK brands.
Someone who is confident, grab the mantle of being a brand ambassador, representing Insurance Age in meetings with senior market figures – and chairing in person or online events attended by as many as 1200 people.

What you’ll do
Monitor the effectiveness of news and analysis content and drive a continued increase in the high-quality print magazine and online readership of the brand.
Manage and motivate a team of journalists to deliver exclusive “must read” news and analysis for our readers.
Be responsible for the news, in–depth analysis and interviews.
Deliver the editorial strategy working closely with the content director.
Assign and edit news content – making sure accuracy, house style and quality of journalism is maintained.
Encourage team to conduct video/audio interviews to complement news and analysis. Maximise the effectiveness of this content.
Help source exclusive content using contacts, publicly available data and FOI requests and then oversee the journalists in bringing these to fruition.
Develop a team of journalists to help them achieve their targets
Chair roundtables, video debates and conferences as directed by the content director.
Being an ambassador for the brand at events and conferences
Building relationships with the sector and putting together a contact book that is the envy of rivals.
Requirements
A proven journalist with a least five years’ experience of B2B publishing.
A track record of sourcing, writing and editing exclusive news and analysis.
Evidence of increasing readership in previous roles.
Good written and verbal skills with the ability to analyse financial figures.
Previous experience of managing a team of staff to motivate them to seek those exclusive content.
Strong understanding of data journalism to make the most of free to access data and freedom of information requests.
Excellent communication skills both dealing with external and internal contacts.
A person who thrives under pressure and is proactive at coming up with different angles for stories.
The ability to hit the ground running and start breaking stories on day one.
