Given our focus on growing our US business, we are looking for a Research Specialist to grow our Research business in the United States and Europe during an exciting, high-growth period. This is the chance to be part of a team providing invaluable thought leadership tailored to the needs of the risk tech marketplace – resulting in an unrivalled level of depth and insight upon which our clients have come to rely. This position is remote or can be located in our London, Nashville, or NY offices.

We have an international client-base of Fortune 500 companies, and strategic relationships with a range of leading global and niche advisory firms. We produce more than twenty focused research reports every year on a range of critical industry themes (see our Research Agenda), and our custom research offering – covering a range of consulting and co-produced research projects – is growing rapidly.

Our reports cover all areas of Risk Technology – from detailed issues around regulatory compliance (IFRS 9, FRTB), and the state of the art in technology for key industry and functional areas of the market (Hedge Funds, Financial Crime) to key adjacent areas of emerging tech trends (Open Source, Cyber Risk Quantification) – and come in multiple formats, from short punchy spotlight reports to deep and detailed market reports, supported by a range of multimedia offerings, from videos and webcasts to social media posting and speaking engagements.


Conduct ongoing research and analysis of the risk and financial technology marketplace to provide insight and decision support for technology vendors, financial institutions, and consulting firms – particularly firms with a strong US and European presence

Keep informed on risk and compliance technology-related research by reading, and networking with clients, vendors and analysts, to evaluate and analyze this market

Support of the Chartis team with organizing, documenting, and enabling production work and status updates.

Coordinates project timelines, workflows, and most aspects of Chartis research projects.

Manages, tracks and reports workflow progress and outcomes regularly to all levels of the organization.

Navigates internal processes to support the project.

Uses business experience and understanding of the project management principals to remove impediments to getting work accomplished and recommends more efficient and streamlined processes.

Make sure the Research team has the tools and resources they need to execute the project.

Provides exceptional communications and support to Research team.

Provides reports/documentation, as needed.

Creates exceptional working relationships with all Charis stakeholders, including internal and external clients.

Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience working within the risk, analytics, market data technology field focused on oil and gas and or in areas such as data management, market data, predictive maintenance, inventory management or asset management

Ideally the candidate has worked for an oil & gas company (upstream, midstream, downstream) or within a company providing software to these firms

Some experience and knowledge in the market including enabling IT solutions to help meet departmental/organizational objectives is preferred

Must be highly process-driven with strong analytical capabilities, the ability to task switch, be happy with new challenges, and be able to share opinions and receive feedback from colleagues

Bachelor’s degree required

Strong communicator with evidence of excellent verbal and written skills, with an ability to explain complex concepts both concisely and simply

Highly collaborative professional with ability to work well both independently and with teams

Strategic mind-set (strong business / commercial acumen) and lateral thinker
