Events Director

Infopro Digital is seeking an experienced Event Director to lead the strategic, commercial, and operational delivery of a large-scale B2B event portfolio. This is a senior leadership role with full ownership of event performance, including revenue growth, profitability, audience quality, and overall brand impact based out of our Sydney offices.

Infopro Digital is a B2B group specialising in information and technology. With a presence in 20 countries, the group has 4,000 employees of 79 nationalities.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record in launching and scaling commercial B2B conferences or exhibitions and will be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, international environment with senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Leadership

Define and execute the long-term strategy and positioning of assigned events

Identify growth opportunities across content, sponsorship, exhibition, partnerships, and audience development

Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and wider industry dynamics

Commercial & Financial Performance

Full ownership of P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting

Develop and deliver revenue strategies across sponsorship, exhibition, partnerships, and delegate sales

Work closely with internal sales teams to maximise yield and long-term client relationships

Content, Marketing & Audience Growth

Provide senior oversight of event content, programming, and speaker strategy

Oversee integrated marketing and audience acquisition plans in collaboration with internal teams

Ensure a high-quality end-to-end experience for delegates, sponsors, and exhibitors

Event Delivery & Operations

Lead all aspects of event planning and on-site delivery

Manage venues, suppliers, production partners, and operational timelines

Ensure compliance with local regulations, health and safety standards, and risk management processes

Team Leadership & Governance

Lead and develop cross-functional teams across sales, marketing, and operations

Act as a senior ambassador for the business at industry events and partner meetings

Deliver post-event analysis and recommendations to support continuous improvement

Requirements

Required Skills (Core)

Proven experience leading commercial B2B events, conferences, or exhibitions

Strong commercial acumen with P&L ownership

Experience managing senior-level stakeholders and partners

Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills

Desirable Skills (Secondary)

Experience launching new events or entering new markets

Experience working within a global or matrixed organisation

Background in sponsorship- or partnership-led event models
